I mean, what is happening?

Flamengo was playing very good, then we lost “Copa do Brasil” quarter-finals in the last minute to Internacional.

It seems that everything fell apart from that moment on. First, defeated by Sport in a 4×2 dramatic match. Then, a shameful game. 5×0 for Coritiba.

As some LOVE to say, Crisis at Flamengo!

What the team’ staff decide to do? Stay one week away from the flashlights and all journalists, at Granja Comary in Teresópolis.

The players got back to Rio de Janeiro, to play against Internacional (once more!) and then, played very well, applying a 4×0 score, with Adriano Imperador doing a hat-trick.

Who can understand this? In two games, Mengo suffers 9 goals. NINE! From teams that were occupying the last positions on the table. Right after that, against the vice-leader of the Championship, they make a great game.

Like some says, Flamengo is the “Robin Hood” of Brazilian Championship. Steal (points) from the rich, and give them to the poors. Only at Flamengo we see this kind of thing. Losing incredible games to small teams, and doing great matches with great teams.

Don’t be mad at me if you’re supporter of one of the teams I called “small”. There are clubs that are small, and Coritiba and Sport are two of them. It’s a fact, let’s face it.

Now, the one-million-dollar-question: what is going to happen in the future?

As we know, Flamengo loooves some instability. Regularity and normal life doesn’t make part of the club’s routine. Troubles, bad results and irregularity, does.

Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe the players surprises me and make a wonderful championship. They can even lose it, as long as they honor the club.

I wrote last post that Flamengo should pay in day to be successful. I read on some blogs that all payments are in day.

So, there’s no excuse. The only result we can have from now on is the victory.

And that’s all.

So, here is the first.

In a couple posts ago (http://flamengo.theoffside.com/flamengo-team-news/right-and-wrong.html#more-163), André wrote about some good things that are happening to Flamengo.
Obina is gone, Adriano arrived, the marketing department is doing some great actions.
All this things are good, excellent. And I agree with him, when he says that we have a chance to see Flamengo being Brazilian Champion this year.

But I have to turn on the warning signal here. Not that I want to be pessimist, it’s because I know the team that I support. Everytime something good happens to Flamengo, there is a complete excitement feeling on the club, contagianting the supporters, players, and the team’s staff. It is usually called “oba-oba”.

And as soccer history has teached us, snobbish teams usually get screwed. They have a trend to fail. It’s historical. To win, we must be humble, and do what football asks us to do: play ball.

Other problem is Flamengo’s payment. If the team is willing to win the league, the board must pay regularly, or else it’s almost impossible to become champions.

As we know, players don’t have “love for the shirt” anymore.

There are exceptions, but they’re rare. Furthermore, we must pay on day.

Felipe
