Adriano, L’Imperatore di Rio de Janeiro

By: André | June 2nd, 2009

Adriano is officially back. He debuted last Sunday against Atlético-PR and what an amazing way to restart his career. He scored one goal, forced the other team to score an own goal and was the best player. Incredible!

He is physically and technically better than 99% of the players playing in Brazil (right now, Nilmar is the only name that comes to my head). He is always in the right place, at the right time. And with our two great wingers, Adriano (and his 1,90m) will be very helpful.

The impression I had is that everybody was playing better since the first minute. Last Sunday, I saw a Flamengo I had probably never seen before. A Flamengo that every player ran, well distributed in the field, marking, making few mistakes, shooting, defending, it was amazing.

What can I say about a player like Adriano? Right now, he could be at Europe, earning twice, three, four, even five times what he earns here, but he came to Flamengo because here is where he is happy. Here is where he makes people happy.

Thank you, Adriano.

Besies his show, last Sunday, the fans made theirs. But I’ll write about it on the next post.
