I really need your help!!! (seriously)
By: André | September 1st, 2008I’m sorry I disappeared since August 14th, but I had my reasons and the major one was my monograph about Brazilian beef exports. Now I have time for this blog and since I wrote several texts just today, now I want (need) your help.
I’m working for the São Paulo State Football Federation and I am on something like a Ticket Sales Board (or Ticket Sales Committee – whatever) and our job is to offer the supporters better buying conditions.
For those who are not familiarized with the terrifying process of buying a football ticket here in Brazil I’ll show some pictures of lines and counters so you can have in mind what is the size of the problem we are facing.

The pictures are from a Flamengo’s document that is result of a research with the supporters during the ticket buying process and we are doing the same thing, but in São Paulo, while Flamengo research was made in Rio de Janeiro.
So, what I want from you is ideas to make this process better, faster and safer, tellgin me how is the procedure at you country. If you have been through problems like these, better; tell me your history.
As you can see on these pictures, there is no information on the lines and it is all very confusing and confused. Luckily football is so passionate. If it wasn’t the fans would not suffer to watch a terrible match just to support their team.
I hope you can help me, and if you really wanna tell me something big, write on my personal e-mail andre.savastanoc@gmail.com
Thanks.

Bigger ticket booth!

Do you guys offer the option of buying tickets online? That way the only line is to get inside the stadium

Brett, bigger ticket booth is one of the things we will do.
Julian, the ticket sales on the Internet exists, but the supporters buy it online and have to get into a line before the game to get the tickets. There is no possibility to print your ticket at home. Some teams use the supporters credit card as ticket, but here in São Paulo only one team does that.

For the people who buy tickets online, you could tell them to come during a certain period of time during the week before the game maybe. So they buy the ticket online, then maybe 2-5 days before the game they can come pick it up. That would make for a lot less people there at once.

The problem is that the ticket booth only open during commercial time. From 11h to 17h. That way the suppporters buy their tickets (or go get them in caso of buying it online) right before the game.
