Welcome Zé

By: André | January 16th, 2009

He is ours; finally ours.

Zé Roberto signed his contract and was presented this afternoon at Granja Comary, after making some physical exams during the morning at Gávea, surpring those who thought he might be out of pratice and in bad condition. The doctors said he still has to lose 2kg, but that is impressive for someone that has not been playing for a while.

Zé Roberto, who became a professional player in 1996 playing for Coritiba, is 28 years old and has already played on big clubs such as Cruzeiro, Benfica, Botafogo and now left Schalke 04 on a 1 year loan contract to join Flamengo until next December. Playing for Botafogo he reached the best moment of his career, been voted the 2006 Brazilian League best right midfielder.

As Cuca said, he came to be one of the mais pieces of our midfield. After Renato Augusto, the first man that deserves to wear our #10.
